Ben&Ben drops music video for 'Di Ka Sayang'

Ben&Ben just dropped the music video for its new single "Di Ka Sayang."

The song was released on November 6 and climbed to no. 1 in the Philippines' Top 50 on Spotify one day later.

The OPM band trended on Twitter when the song came out as fans gushed about Ben&Ben's latest offering.

"We didn't know that the message of the song would resonate with so many of you," the band wrote on Instagram. "To be honest, we were very anxious of how it would be received because we know that to sing about self-acceptance is a tremendous task."

"We hope this song has somehow helped you in your path to self-healing. No matter what you are going through right now, we're here for you," Ben&Ben added.

today, di ka sayang hit # 1 on the Top 50. we didn't know that the message of the song would resonate with so many of you. to be honest, we were very anxious of how it would be received because we know that to sing about self-acceptance is a tremendous task because, we respect and understand that we all have our own struggles, especially at these times. but sometimes, hearing the words "di ka sayang" and "tanggap kita" is all we need to begin our journey of healing, and embracing our true self, especially if we've come from a place of feeling hopeless and worthless. and so we fought really really hard to get the message out there. we hope this song has somehow helped you in your path to self-healing. no matter what you are going through right now, we're here for you, through the music. kain na kayo dinner Liwanag ha, sana masarap ulam niyo

Paolo Benjamin seemingly teased the song weeks earlier with a post on Twitter.

"Isa sa mga paboritong sabihin sa 'tin ng ibang matatanda ay, 'alam mo, sayang ka.' Hindi 'yun totoo. Kailanman," he said in September.

"Di Ka Sayang" came weeks after the nine-piece band ended the first season of its BBTV series to focus on writing its second album.

Before this single, the band released "Lifetime," a song inspired by the viral story of a netizen who was in love with her best friend. —MGP, GMA News
