Alden Richards shares experience with exorcism on ‘Bawal Judgmental’ of ‘Eat Bulaga’
Alden Richards said he used to think possession by evil spirits only happened in the movies, until he had a close encounter with it himself.
The actor and “Eat Bulaga” host was one of the “judgees” on the show’s “Bawal Judgmental” segment Saturday, which guested people who witnessed or had an experience with exorcism and other paranormal activities.
According to Alden, it happened at the then old house that he bought in Laguna.
He said the contractor promised to finish the repairs in four months, but it’s been 10 months and they’re not yet done.
Alden said the workers complained that they would find their tools broken, or sometimes they saw things at the master’s bedroom.
After discussions with friends, he began to entertain the possibility that the house might be haunted.
The actor asked help from Fr. Jeff Quintela, chief exorcist of the Diocese of Antipolo, to conduct exorcism rites on the house.
On the scheduled day of exorcism, however, Fr. Jeff and Alden encountered many setbacks.
Fr. Jeff was late by 2-3 hours because he got lost, when according to Alden, his house could be easily located through a GPS app.
When he arrived, Fr. Jeff had a headache. “On the scale of 1-10, ’yung sakit ng ulo niya nasa 8,” said Alden.
The priest also looked visibly uncomfortable while going around the house, said Alden. “‘Chard, malakas,’” the actor quoted Fr. Jeff as saying, referring to the bad spirits that dwelled in the house.
It was hot and sunny during that day, said the actor, and there was no wind at all. When Fr. Jeff began the deliverance prayer, however, the sky suddenly went dark and all the doors in the house and the gate suddenly shut with a loud bang at the same time.
“May nagagalit,” said Alden. “Sabi ni Father, ‘huwag kayong matakot, tuloy lang tayo sa dasal. Matagal nang naninirahan ’yung masamang elemento’ sa lugar na ’yun,” he added.
Apart from praying, they also put exorcism salt and oil at all the doors in the house.
After the rites, they went to a restaurant for dinner, where Alden talked with Fr. Jeff to ask for his help to strengthen his faith.
While they were talking, however, the actor said they could see right in front of their eyes the skin on his right forearm slowly forming scratches. At first his skin just turned red, until it bled.
Fr. Jeff then applied exorcism oil onto his wound, telling Alden that he needed to strengthen his faith.
Since the exorcism, the actor shared that the house had become a pleasant place to live in. “Magaan, masarap siyang uwian,” he shared, saying that he had in fact been using the master’s bedroom.
Alden also shared that since that experience, he had been joining Fr. Jeff in his exorcism trips. He said he once helped exorcise a fan who could see ghosts and thought it was a gift, but was actually possessed by 7 demons.
The contestant for today’s “Bawal Judgmental” episode was Miss Universe Philippines national director Shamcey Supsup. – RC, GMA News
