'Emily in Paris' creator thinks Carrie Bradshaw of 'Sex and the City' would 'absolutely love' Emily
“Emily in Paris” is already streaming on Netflix.
A romantic comedy series about a twenty-something marketing executive who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris, "Emily in Paris" was created by Darren Star, the same genius who brought us "Sex in the City," "Melrose Place," among others.
And Star believes the iconic Carrie Bradshaw would "absolutely love" the titular character of the new series.
"I think Carrie would absolutely love Emily and really envy that experience she's having and think: 'Wow.' Maybe, you know? I really do. I think she'd have a lot of affection for Emily," he said.
Much like Carrie, Emily Cooper is a beautiful and hard-working go-getter who goes on a romance-filled adventure in the fabulous City of Lights.
During a recent virtual interview courtesy of Netflix, Darren and Lily shared they were both excited for the audience to join Emily as she explores one of the world's dreamiest destinations.
"I certainly fell hard for (Paris) the first time I visited, so I wanted to do a show... I'd like everybody [to] live vicariously through this experience," Darren told GMA News Online.
"There's this wish fulfillment of travel in the show that we all obviously can't travel right now in the way that we used to, or that we would really want to. So this show allows for us to do that through our screens," Lily added.
"Emily in Paris" is produced by Darren Star Productions, Jax Media and MTV Studios.
Aside from Lily Collins, who also serves as a producer, the show also stars Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo , Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat, Bruno Gouery, Kate Walsh, William Abadie and Arnaud Viard. — LA, GMA News
