Pets receive blessing via drive-thru ahead of Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, World Animal Day

Humans and their pets received blessing via drive-thru on Saturday at SM City Taytay in Rizal.

In these photos by Danny Pata, Rev. Fr. Mario Operario officiated the ceremony with more than 150 fur babies as the mall held its first-ever drive-thru pet blessing activity in celebration of World Animal Day.

Due to the pandemic, the pet owners and their babies had to stay inside their vehicles during the blessing.

October 4 marks the celebration of World Animal Day and the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, who is the patron saint of animals and the environment. – Danny Pata/RC, GMA News
