Sushi restaurant in Japan employs macho bodybuilders to deliver orders

A sushi restaurant in Anjo, Japan decided to hire macho bodybuilders to deliver orders and attract customers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Reuters, the 41-year-old sushi chef Masanori Sugiura of the restaurant Imazushi thought of the concept to increase profit after the business was hit by the health crisis.

With the "Delivery Macho" service, customers can order sushi from the restaurant and have it delivered by a macho man who will even take his shirt off and flex his muscles.

Masanori himself is a competitive bodybuilder and decided to hire his own friends from the fitness gym industry who also lost their jobs amid the pandemic.

With social distancing implemented, the "Delivery Macho" service costs up to 7,000 yen or P3,200.

The restaurant went viral online after rolling out the unique service and now gets 10 orders a day. Their earnings reach around 1.5 million yen or P700,000 each month. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
