"When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything. Resident Evil, a new live action series based on Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, is coming to Netflix," the post said.
The series is written by "Supernatural" executive producer and co-showrunner Andrew Dabb, and directed by Bronwen Hughes. Constantin Film, the studio is behind the Resident Evil movies, is producing the film.
According to Deadline, the series will feature a brand new story across two timelines.
Fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City, a town that is more than it seems. Over a decade later, billions of people and animals infected with the "T-virus" roam the earth as monsters.
Capcom released survival horror game "Resident Evil" in 1996, and it went on to become one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time.
It was adapted into a film franchise by Paul W. S. Anderson, starting with "Resident Evil" in 2002. —JCB, GMA News
