Dwayne Johnson all suited up for new DC superhero film ‘Black Adam’
“The man in black is going to crush them all.”
DC just dropped a ton of new teasers for the upcoming superhero film “Black Adam” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Apart from new concept photos, The Rock also posted an intense teaser where he sent out a cryptic message to all the “other superheroes” in the DC Universe, including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
“I need you guys to send a message out to some of the other ones… let’s let them know something things will never be the same, because the heirarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change,” the actor said.
Johnson first announced his involvement in “Black Adam” in November last year.
In his IG post, the former professional wrestler posted a brief description of his anti-hero character and shared how he related to superheroes growing up.
“As a kid, Superman was the hero I always wanted to be. But, a few years into my fantasy, I realized that Superman was the hero, I could never be. I was too rebellious. Too rambunctious. Too resistant to convention and authority,” Johnson wrote.
"Despite my troubles, I was still a good kid with a good heart - I just liked to do things my way. Now, years later as a man, with the same DNA I had as a kid - my superhero dreams have come true. I’m honored to join the iconic #DCUniverse and it’s a true pleasure to become Black Adam,” he added.
“Black Adam is blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, but the difference is he doesn’t toe the mark or walk the line. He’s a rebellious, one of a kind superhero, who’ll always do what’s right for the people - but he does it his way. Truth and justice - the Black Adam way,” he said.
Johnson also wrote that “This role is unlike any other I’ve ever played in my career and I’m grateful to the bone we’ll all go on this journey together.”
Meanwhile, "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" star Noah Centineo confirmed he will be appearing in the superhero movie as Atom Smasher a.k.a. Albert Rothstein.
According to Variety, “Black Adam” the movie is set to arrive December 22, 2021.
