Parody group brings to life 'Encantadia' Sang'gres with homemade costumes

A parody group has brought to life the Sang'gres of "Encantadia" and served good vibes amid the community quarantine.

In Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," ParoDivas stepped into the role not just of Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya, but also of their mother Mine-a.

The group said the pandemic situation made it difficult to gather the materials for their costumes, but they were able to make it work in the end.

"Tiningnan po namin 'yung mga pictures at the same time pinanood namin 'yung mga videos," they said. "Nakita po namin 'yung parang 360 degrees ng mga costumes and pinili po namin na maging accurate."

Their project caught the attention of Sang'gre Pirena herself, Glaiza De Castro, who tweeted a clip of their video and tagged their Twitter account.

"Isang malaking mood," said the actress.

The group posed in the Sang'gre's battle gear complete with weapons. They also summoned the "brilyante" in their palms.

In the middle of the video, they catwalked on the road with the song "Toco Toco To" playing in the background.

Aside from the video, they also started an "Encantadia" series in their YouTube channel. The first episode has been uploaded with more to come.

The group was previously featured in "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" after doing a parody of beauty pageants. In the episode, they were able to talk to Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray herself.
