Ben&Ben covers songs by K-Pop artists Twice, NCT Dream, Red Velvet, Day6

Ben&Ben has performed not just one, but four K-Pop covers!

On the first episode of their new YouTube series “BBTV,” Ben&Ben performed covers of hits from various K-Pop artists, such as “Feel Special” by Twice, “Beautiful Time” by NCT Dream, “Bad Boy” by Red Velvet, and “You Were Beautiful” by Day6.

Paolo Benjamin, one of the vocalists, said they made the covers as a way of thanking their fans and the South Korean artists who listened to their songs.

“Ginawa natin ito kasi ’yung K-pop fans ni-request ’yung music ng Ben&Ben sa mga idols nila and plinay ng mga idols nila sa livestream nila,” said Paolo. “Bilang pasasalamant, we wanted to try our hand at K-Pop songs.”

According to vocalist Miguel Benjamin, it wasn’t too difficult to learn the lyrics of the songs, even if both him and Paolo didn’t speak Korean.

“Pasensya na po sa nakakaintindi ng Korean. Hindi talaga kami nagsasalita so we just tried to do our best,” said Miguel.

Commenting on NCT Dream’s “Beautiful Time,” Miguel said: “Nakakatuwa kasi ’yung groove ng syllables, may natural, may swing siya ... great job sa nagsulat. Thank you for writing that beautiful song.”

Just last month, Ben&Ben shared that they trended in South Korea, posting a screenshot that showed that the OPM band was on the top of local trending topics.
