BTS to release new English single on Aug. 21
BTS will drop a new single on Aug. 21!
The South Korean group’s agency Big Hit Entertainment announced the news early Friday morning.
“On August 21, 2020, the new digital single by BTS will be released on Korean and international music streaming sites,” said the announcement on Weverse, Big Hit’s social media platform for its artists’ fan community.
“We would like to thank all ARMY for your continued affection for BTS, and we ask for your love and support for the new digital single soon to be unveiled,” it added.
Big Hit released the statement immediately after the announcement of BTS members themselves during a livestream on the V Live platform.
Per fan translation, the septet said the new song would have a fun and energetic vibe and would be recorded in English.
The members hoped that the song would give positivity and comfort to people all over the world who are exhausted due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.
According to another translator, BTS is releasing the single ahead of their comeback album, which is expected to come out later this year.
They have not yet decided, however, if the new single will be part of the new album.
Just this month, BTS released their 4th Japanese album, “Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey,” which broke records in Japan’s charts and topped iTunes in at least 81 countries.
BTS earlier announced that they’re working on their self-produced comeback album following the February release of “Map of the Soul: 7,” this year’s best-selling album worldwide according to Forbes. – GMA News
