Mayor Isko Moreno feeds Mali the elephant at Manila Zoo

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso feeds Mali the elephant on Saturday, July 25, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Manila Zoo.

The ceremonial lowering of time capsule for the “Bagong Manila Zoo” was led today by the Manila city government and its partners.  

The city government collaborated with Jose T. Mañosa and Associates for the renovation of the 61-year-old tourist attraction.

The zoo was closed to the public in January 2019 after being identified as one of the major pollutants of Manila Bay.

Despite the closure and amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the zoo continues to care for and feed its animals. – Danny Pata/RC, GMA News
