juan karlos drops new single 'BLESS Ü'
juan karlos on Friday dropped fresh new music that should usher the weekend in. "BLESS Ü" is a pop-R&B music so sleek and smooth, it takes about three listens before its message about resilience and hope sinks in.
"The song, or at least the idea of it, was already made prior to the lockdown. Basically it was on standby," frontman JK Labajo said in a press statement.
When the lockdown happened and gigs were cancelled, the band decided to use the time "to record something different" from what people have come to expect from the band.
Of course it's never as easy as it sounds. "Not all of our members have their own home setup so [doing it] separately was just not feasible," JK explained.
It was when lockdown restrictions eased that the band was able to properly record.
With "BLESS Ü," juan karlos aims to make those going through anxiety, depression, and hopelessness "feel somehow lighter."
In addition, the band has pledged a portion of the song's revenue streams to help fun COVID-19 relief efforts.
We all know and should thank juan karlos for the 2018 sensational hit "Buwan." The Filipino band is composed of JK Labajo, Jeriko Aguilar, Louie Bayas, and Gian Hipolito.
"BLESS Ü" comes at the heels of juan karlos' newest album Diwa. It is available on Spotify via Island Records Philippines. — LA, GMA News
