Ben&Ben drops quarantine-written song 'Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin'

Ben&Ben officially dropped its quarantine-written song "Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin" on Wednesday evening.

'Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin' OUT NOW on all platforms! Surprise," Ben&Ben wrote in the caption of their Facebook post.

An earlier, more raw version of the song was shared sometime in April. "Naglalagay pa lang kami ng instruments ng band this week, can't wait," they said back then. 

Although they did not mention the meaning behind the song, it seems that the lyrics was inspired by current events as the country battles the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The nine-piece collective band released the song for free on their social media platforms last Independence Day.

The band has been quite productive through lockdown. Aside from "Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin," Ben&Ben also released "Lifetime", inspired by a love story shared by a netizen, and "Doors," the band's first international single.  — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
