Mikey Way comforts My Chemical Romance fans over postponed tour: Live music ‘just on pause’
Killjoys all over the world are going to have to wait longer to hear My Chemical Romance play together again live.
According to the recently reunited rock band’s announcements, MCR has lined up several shows in different countries for this year, but these have been put on hold in light of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
MCR’s bassist Mikey Way, brother of frontman Gerard Way, opened up regarding their postponed “comeback tour” during a recent interview with BBC’s Radio 1.
“I know fans have been waiting a long time, but it’ll all still be here when this is all over,” he said.
My Chemical Romance, which had been on a six-year hiatus since 2012, made a lot of their fans, also called Killjoys, happy when they announced a reunion show in December 2019.

But as their upcoming shows were among several live music events hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mikey encouraged music fans to stay on the positive side.
“Live music isn’t going anywhere, it’s just on pause for everybody,” BBC quoted the musician.
“I feel like people are waiting with bated breath. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I think there’s something really cool about that,” he said.
Mikey spoke to BBC ahead of the release of his graphic novel “Electric Century.”
His brother also has a lot of activities coming up as the second season of “The Umbrella Academy,” which is based on Gerard’s comic book, is coming to Netflix this July. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
