Lisa Macuja-Elizalde shares bite-sized ballet lessons online


Lisa Macuja-Elizalde is freely sharing her expertise on ballet amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

The country's legendary prima ballerina has been giving tips and short lessons for both beginners and pros.

On the Facebook page of her school, Ballet Manila, she held a 30-minute online class on ballet fitness.

She guided viewers on some stretches and basic ballet movements.

Lisa has also been sharing some pro ballet tips on her Instagram account.

In these handy sixty-second clips on her feed, she teaches young dancers at home how to a proper ballet hand and how you can use a pencil to improve your posture!

 

 

These helpful ballet videos come at a perfect time, considering Luzon has been under quarantine in a bid to arrest the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country.

You can also join Lisa's Barre class (intermediate/advanced level) this Friday (March 27, 2020) on the Philstage Facebook page at 4 p.m. for a good cause.

 

 

 

The artistic director and Prima Ballerina of Ballet Manila said it's part of an effort "to raise funds for our artists and staff that have zero income at the moment because performances have been cancelled and seasons have been cut short."
