A mother makes a mini sari-sari store to keep kids productive at home during quarantine
A mother got creative and created a mini sari-sari store inside their house, to keep the kids entertained and disciplined during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
Hycinth Clor de Arta told GMA Public Affairs she noticed her child and her cousins were becoming couch potatoes, filling their days with a lot of TV, Netflix and YouTube.
So she put up a mini-store at home to keep the children productive amid the lockdown and the suspension of classes.
Because we are on quarantine, quarantine guidelines are observed in the store. Kids need to practice strict social distancing while inside the mini store, for instance, as shown in one of the photos she shared.
The kids will have to do house chores to earn play money, which they can use to pay for items being sold the mini sari-sari store, including biscuits, candies, chocolates, fruits and juices.
"If you want money, mag-work sa bahay para sa sweldo," read an item on the store's list of guidelines.
The store is only open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., kids are not allowed to go inside without masks, and they are also required to rub alcohol on their hands before buying.
According to Hycinth, the kids have become excited to do the house chores because they know it will earn them money to buy snacks from her store.
Good job, Mommy Hycinth! — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
