Tori Kelly cancels concert in Manila amid COVID-19 scare

Two-time Grammy Award winner Tori Kelly has cancelled the Philippine leg of her world tour amid the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Concert organizer MMI Live made the announcement on Facebook Thursday.

"On the advice of authorities on COVID-19, we regret to announce the cancellation of Tori Kelly ‘Inspired by True Events Tour’ Live in Manila on April 20, 2020 at the New Frontier Theater," MMI Live said in a statement.

The organizers also said that they were issuing full ticket refunds for ticket holders.

However, they said that the TicketNet Box Office will be closed until April 14, 2020 due to the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

All refunds will be processed starting April 15.

Kelly's concert tour in Manila, which was supposed to be held on April 20, would have been her first-ever in the country.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there have been more than 191,000 confirmed COVID-19 infections in the world, with over 7800 deaths as of Wednesday.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health has reported a total of 217 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 17 deaths and 8 recoveries.
