Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard treats fans to live studio session
Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard is comforting his fans by treating them to a live performance of their songs through Facebook.
The American singer held a mini gig from his home on Wednesday, 7 a.m. (Manila time), amid the rapid spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) around the world.
And the best part? He plans to do this every day!
"Hey Everyone, I know you are all really freaked out right now. I am too. And while I’m proud that we’re all doing the necessary things at the moment to help flatten the curve, I know it has left us all incredibly isolated," he wrote on the band's Facebook page.
Ben said he has always been grateful for his fans' support for his music.
"So in this crazy and unprecedented time, I’d like to return the favor by coming to YOU," he said.
Ben is best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist Death Cab for Cutie. He was also part of indie pop supergroup The Postal Service.
Among Death Cab for Cutie's popular hits are "Transatlanticism" and "I Will Follow You into the Dark."
Yesterday, Coldplay's vocalist Chris Martin also brought some entertainment to those who are stuck inside their homes as the COVID-19 threat forced many cities in the world to impose lockdown measures.
He held a mini gig on Instagram live on Tuesday (Manila time) and the full video was later posted in the band's Facebook page.
