Meet the new characters in Netflix's ‘YOU’ Season 2

Who else is gearing up to watch “YOU” Season 2 on Netflix?

For those of you who don’t know, the critically-acclaimed psycho-thriller that caused quite a buzz last year follows the obsessed and deadly mind of a charming bookseller named Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), who’s willing to do anything to be with the girl of his dreams.

The first season started with Joe falling madly in love with a talented writer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) who walked into the bookstore where he works. Things escalate quite gruesomely from there, and Joe ends up killing Beck herself.

Season 2 takes off from last season’s cliffhanger where Joe’s ex-girlfriend before Beck, Candace (Ambyr Childers) — who we were led to believe was dead — pops into the bookstore and confronts Joe about what he’s done to make her disappear.

But, as we see in the first episode, Joe managed to flee New York to start a new life in Los Angeles, where he meets a lot of interesting new characters.

Here’s a little guide to some of the faces (or should we say, victims?) you’ll be seeing this season.

Love

In L.A., Joe meets a beautiful and thoughtful chef who’s literally named Love (Victoria Pedretti).

Joe scores a new job at a trendy all-in-one bookstore-cafe-grocery store called Anavrin, which is later revealed to be owned by her parents. Nevertheless, she enters the story as a caring and helpful person who hits it off with Joe almost instantly.

Eventually, Love becomes the new object of Joe’s affection for many reasons. She’s also the main driving force of Joe’s character development, which advances tremendously throughout the season.

Victoria looks familiar, doesn’t she? That’s because she gave a memorable performance in Netflx’s other frightening thriller “Haunting of Hillhouse.”

Forty

Joe didn’t like L.A. at first, and his new boss at Anavrin, Forty, made it even more so.

But Joe has to put up with him for one good reason: He learns that Forty is Love’s twin brother, and they’re “co-dependent.” Forty may be the spoiled, rich owner of his workplace and is a recovering drug addict who almost never leaves his sister’s side, but Joe eventually finds the drive to help him.

Ellie

Joe, who rents out a flat in L.A., immediately develops a concern for a teen resident named Ellie (Jenna Ortega).

She’s the plucky and smart but also downright stubborn and angsty younger sister of their building manager, Delilah. Like that kid Paco from last season, Joe’s parent-like protectiveness of a character in need of some guidance really brings out his good side.

Delilah

Delilah (Carmela Zummbado) is Joe’s attractive apartment building manager who also becomes an object of his concern, one way or another.

But don’t let her looks fool you — Delilah’s actually a very tough investigative journalist with connections who’s determined to expose predators due to her traumatic past. So you’re going to want to see how Delilah’s relationship with her charming-but-deadly tenant develops.

Henderson

"YOU" happens to have a powerful male character who’s almost impossible to expose and bring down for being a sexual predator. Henderson (Chris D’Elia) is a rich and famous comedian who hosts huge parties and is hailed as an all-around “good guy.”

However, Joe finds out that he secretly preys on younger women and his latest target is Ellie, who begins hanging out with him for an “internship.” This doesn’t sit well with Joe, especially now that he wants to prove he’s a good person and be worthy of Love.
