December Avenue is Spotify PHL's most streamed artist of 2019!

Not only is December Avenue is Spotify Philippines' most streamed artist of 2019 — the band is the first local artist to take the top Spot on Spotify's annual year-ender campaign, Wrapped.

The local band bested global superstars Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, who were only second and third most-streamed in the Philippines respectively.

December Avenue's song with Moira dela Torre "Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw" also topped the Philippines' most-streamed tracks list.

This year saw the overall success of OPM on the streaming site: Four out of five places in the Philippines’ Most Streamed Tracks of 2019 are by OPM artists, including Moira dela Torre, I Belong To The Zoo, This Band and Ben&Ben.

Female voices were also "a force" on Spotify with Moira dela Torre taking the third most-streamed female artist in the Philippines, following closely behind Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande.

Globally, Billie Eilish is the second Most Streamed Artist, amassing 6 billion streams globally this year alone, following behind Post Malone.

The American singer's WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is also 2019’s Most Streamed Album of the year on Spotify, making it the first female-led album to top the list.

“Wrapped" is Spotify's annual end of year campaign which announces the leading artists, albums, songs, playlists, and podcasts.

For 2019, the streaming giant says 248 million people around the world has listened to and discovered music and podcasts.
