Drowning in too many tote bags? Here are 3 ways to upcycle them
If like us, you're already drowning from too many eco bags, good news: They don't need to remain an eco bag.
DIY expert Shiela Torralba showed us how to turn them into other useful things.
Remember: A key to reducing waste is using fewer things many times. That way, you can refrain from buying more stuff.
Laptop case
A tote bag has all the body you need to make a decent laptop bag. You just need something soft — like felt — to keep it safe and some velcro or a zipper to secure it.
Organizer
With a needle and thread, you can turn that tote bag into a cute little organizer to keep your makeup and toiletries in order.
Since totes already have these long straps, you can easily carry your organizer around or hang it in your bathroom.
Apron
If you're feeling particularly creative with a pair of scissors and a sewing kit, your tote bag can be your new apron.
You don't even need any other materials. If you cut it up right, there could be extra fabric to make a pocket and the handles can be used as straps. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
