Netflix asks Filipino artist to interpret Stranger Things 'The Upside Down' in a poster
Cebu-based Filipino artist Ken Hensly created a poster that interpreted Stranger Things Season 1's "Chapter Eight:The Upside Down" episode.
The graphic illustrator is one of 18 artists from around the world tapped to interpret different episodes of the hit Netflix series.
Ken said his art technique, which is "surrealistic in nature" is a perfect match to the show's theme.
"I think is very fitting to portray the paranormal, the bizarre and nostalgic familiar, the gritty and otherworldly dimension, and to convey the darkness and emotions each character had been struggling with," Ken said.

A huge fan of "Stranger Things," Ken said he would do personal artworks of some of the episodes that caught his attention. He would then upload them in his portfolio.
Netflix noticed his talent and so they asked him to do an actual poster. "I accepted it in a heartbeat," he said.
Ken expressed his gratitude to be given the opportunity to express his fandom and showcase his craft.
"Coming from a small city down south of the Philippines, Cebu, it’s an honor to have been one of the people chosen to express my fandom and showcase my craft,” Ken said.
