Tita Mel Tiangco says she wants to feature Duterte's life story in 'Magpakailanman'

If there is one personality that 24 Oras broadcaster Mel Tiangco wants to feature in the Kapuso drama anthology series Magpakailanman, it will be President Rodrigo Duterte.

"Don't you sometimes feel that this guy, there's something mysterious about him, 'di ba?" Tita Mel began at the pocket press interview for Magkapakailanman's 6th year anniversary on Wednesday.

"Hindi mo ba nafi-feel 'yung [sa likod ng pagmumra niya], ano ba talaga ang pagkatao ng taong ito? Parang gusto ko na, baka mapalabas ko kung ano 'yung kaniyang pagkatao na ganiyan."

"Kasi ano eh, he is a man of contrast, 'di ba? He is soft-spoken, pero nagmumura, oh? Ang kaniyang..."

At this point, Tita Mel already cut herself and refused to elaborate on what's with Duterte.

"Ay pero 'wag na 'yan ang pag-usapan natin!" she joked with reporters.

For its month-long celebration, Magpakailanman is featuring the extraordinary and the most compelling stories of the common Filipino people.

In its opening salvo last Saturday, Nov 3, the anthology drama show featured the love story of Eloisa at Rene, who have a 44-year age gap. Rene is 32 years old when he fell in love with 76-year-old Eloisa.

On Saturday, Magpakailanman will present the story of Yuki, a child who was abandoned by her "Japayuki" mother.

"'Yung mother niya nag-Japayuki, tatlo silang magkakapatid na pinamigay-migay sila. Siya, pinambayad siya sa taxi, walang maibayad sa taxi 'yung mother niya. Eh hindi naman maganda 'yung napuntahan niya. In short, hinahanap niya 'yung mga kapatid niya," Tita Mel said.

Tita Mel also revealed they will also be featuring a story on Filipino seamen who were kidnapped by Somalians. The characters will be portrayed by two Kapuso matinee idols who are brothers.

"Malaki 'yun, malaki ang production, parang pelikula," Tita Mel said. — LA, GMA News
