Iglesia Ni Cristo nabs world record for longest human sentence

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on Sunday set a new world record for the world's largest human sentence—and may have gotten another for largest photo mosaic.

According to a 24 Oras report by Tricia Zafra, more than 23,000 INC members flocked to Quirino Grandstand to form the words "Proud to be a Member of Iglesia Ni Cristo."

The INC said that the world record attempt is part of its Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty.

"As of today we have 20 eco-farming and resettlement sites here in the Philippines. That's long term help to those who are less-fortunate. Short term, we do conduct Lingap sa Mamamayan," said spokesperson Edwil Zabala.

On Sunday, the church also set forth to gain the record for world's largest picture mosaic.

In 2014, the INC also obtained the record for the Largest Charity Walk across Multiple Venues in 24 hours.

In 2017, over 17,000 students from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) attempted to break the record while they spelled out  "My Teacher is My Hero," as they paid tribute to educators during National Teachers' Month. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
