GMA Kapuso Foundation to launch 'Linis Lusog Kapusong Kabataan Project' this summer
GMA Kapuso Foundation is set to launch its "Linis Lusog Kapusong Kabataan Project" this year.
According to "24 Oras," Wednesday, the initiative is just in time as the summer heat intensifis in the country, which may cause prickly heat (bungang araw) to some.
Dermatologist Grace Beltran said that people get prickly heat when there is an occlusion of tehe sweat duct, leading to the formation of bumps.
She advised not to scratch these bumps to prevent secondary bacterial infections. She also recommended applying sunblock when going out.
"Thirty minutes before sun exposure, dapat na-apply mo na 'yung sunblock. Dapat naka-sunglass ka nga na may UV protection kasi puwede rin mag-lead sa cataract ang ultraviolet exposure," Beltran said.
"Kapagka tag-init kasi dapat proper hygiene lalo, 'no? Kailangan nga mas maligo ka at least once a day. Drink plenty of water," she said.
The "Linis Lusog Kapusong Kabataan Project" will offer free dental services and educate children and parents on proper handwashing, toothbrushing, and hair care.
Complete hygiene kits will also be distributed.
