Carla Abellana reveals reason for hospitalization last month

Carla Abellana has revealed the reason why she was hospitalized last month.

In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the Kapuso actress said that she was confined for three days.

"Dun ko nalaman na may complications na pala, kidney stones, UTI, muntik na ako mag-sepsis. So na-confine ako for three days hanggang sa nag-beg na akong umuwi kasi na-miss ko 'yung mga aso ko tsaka kailangan ko nang bumalik ng trabaho," she said.

"Thankfully pinayagan naman akong umuwi," Carla said.

Among the possible causes of kidney stones are obesity, not drinking enough water, and eating too much salty or sweet food, while UTI is an infection in any part of the urinary tract caused by a microbe such as E. coli.

Meanwhile, Sepsis occurs when a person's organs cease to function properly as the result of an out-of-control immune response to infection. Even if the condition doesn't kill, it can create lifelong disabilities.

Carla assured that her laboratory tests went well.

"Wala na 'yung infection, OK na, clear na 'yung lab tests, x-ray, everything, so 'yung ano na lang talaga, ubo," she said.

Carla was confined at Diliman Doctors Hospital and later on told her followers that she was "taken care of very well."

Even while sick, she still tuned in to her current series, "Widows' War."

Carla stars in the murder-mystery series with Bea Alonzo, Tonton Gutierrez, Jean Garcia, Rita Daniela, Jeric Gonzales, Benjamin Alves, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, James Graham, and more.

Carla and Bea play former best friends Georgina and Samantha. They both lose their husbands and become sworn enemies as they search for justice for their loved ones.

"Widows' War" is directed by award-winning filmmaker Zig Dulay and airs weekdays at 8:50 p.m. on GMA Prime.
