Gordon Ramsay stresses importance of wearing a helmet after getting into a bike accident

Gordon Ramsay couldn’t stress enough the importance of wearing a helmet after he got into a bad accident while riding his bike in Connecticut, US.

On TikTok, the celebrity chef recalled the incident and gave an important reminder to wear a helmet when riding a bike or a motorcycle.

“Please wear a helmet. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be here now,” Gordon said. “I’m lucky to be here.”

“I don’t care how short the journey is, I don’t care about the fact that these helmets cost money, but it’s crucial to wear one even with the kids,” he added.

Gordon said he’s currently in pain but recovering from the accident. He didn’t suffer from any major injuries or break any bones, but he did obtain a bruise on his waist from the mishap.

Apart from wearing protective gear, there are plenty of ways to make cycling safer. Keeping bike lanes protected from motor vehicles using barriers like bollards and plant boxes is one. Building bike lane networks that are completely separate from main thoroughfares is another.

“It’s been a brutal week, and I’m sort of getting through it,” Gordon said.

He ended his post by greeting his fellow dads with a Happy Father’s Day.

Gordon is set to open his first restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, in the Philippines later this year at the Newport World Resorts.

The exciting soon-to-open restaurant will offer a curated selection of rare breed steaks, grilled specialties, fresh market seafood, and Gordon’s legendary Beef Wellington.
