Arnold Clavio assures he is 'out of danger' following hemorrhagic stroke
Following his recent health scare, Arnold Clavio posted an update, sharing some good news.
He said that because he was still within the six-hour critical period when he got to the hospital for treatment, the brain attack team was able to immediately take care of him.
“Pagkatapos ay iniakyat na ako sa Acute Stroke Unit (ASU). Doon ay mahigpit na babantayan ang aking blood pressure (BP) at blood sugar,” he said.
For three days, the neurologist, cardiologist, and rehab doctor made regular rounds to check his condition, and eventually decided that Arnold didn’t need to undergo surgery.
According to the Kapuso news anchor and radio host, the doctors explained that his "slight bleeding is in the thalamus area (left side) which is responsible for sensation and some muscle control, that's why his right legs and arms had numbness and until now feels weak.”
“Good news, I am out of danger," Clavio said. "Sabi nga ni Doc, ‘no more worries. The worst is over! You’re a lucky man!’ Ang kailangang gawin na lang ay mapababa pa ang aking BP at sugar level,” he said.
On the second day, he can already manage to sit down although he would feel dizzy.
“Mahaba pa ang laban na ito. Ang laking pagbabago sa buhay ko habang nasa ASU. Bawal pa akong tumayo kaya kailangan ko na mag-adult diaper. Di ako komportable kaya inabot pa ng tatlong araw bago ako naka-pupu,” he said.
Clavio added that he feels like he is a baby who needs to be cleaned and washed every day to feel fresh.
“At may bago pala akong kaibigan - si insulin!” he said. “Abangan ang pag-graduate ko sa ASU at simula ng aking therapy at rehabilitation. At sana ang aking kuwento ay makapagligtas ng maraming buhay.”
Clavio first posted about his health scare on Friday.
He was driving home after playing golf when he felt a strange sensation on his right side, so he decided to stop at the nearest hospital.
Arnold was diagnosed with a hemorrhagic stroke and was transferred to a hospital in Metro Manila.
