Kris Aquino vows to continue fight vs. autoimmune conditions: 'I refuse to die'

Kris Aquino is staying strong despite her worsening health as she battles multiple autoimmune conditions.

In a live interview via Zoom on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Wednesday, the Queen of All Media got real with her current situation, saying that the next six months would very crucial for her.

"On Monday, papasok pa ako sa ospital at may susubukan kaming biological na gamot," she said, adding that this treatment is a chance to "save my heart."

"Kapag hindi ito tumalab, I stand a strong chance of having a cardiac arrest. As in puwedeng in my sleep, or kung ano mang ginagawa ko. Puwedeng tumigil na lang ang pagtibok ng puso ko," she said.

Despite the gravity of her situation, Kris still showed flashes of her usual wit, sharing a conversation between her and her sister Viel Aquino-Dee before she appeared on the show.

"Would you believe my sister Viel said this? 'I hope may nag-aayos-ayos sa 'yo. I hope bihis kang OK dahil ayokong kaawaan ka ng tao at ayokong matakot sila na ililibing ka na,'" she said.

Kris responded with so much hope and positivity saying, "No. I refuse to die."

"Talagang pipilitin ko, dahil my next chapter is to become stage mother," she added, laughing.

Kris also said that each day is a blessing for her.

"You know I've been very upfront and honest at hinarap ko na ito. Kasi alam ko na bawat araw, especially ngayon na birthday ko pa, na pahiram na lang 'to ng Diyos. Binigyan ako ng bonus," she said.

"Whatever days are left. Kung ano man ang natitira, it's a blessing," she added.

She vowed that she will not give up despite her condition and will continue to fight for her children Josh and Bimby.

"I really want to stay alive, I mean sino ba naman ang sasabihin na 'handa na akong mamatay?' I don't think any of us could say that," she said.

Mentioning her sons, Kris said she made a promise to Bimby, who is 16, that she would do everything for him until he became an adult.

Kris is currently in the United States seeking treatment for multiple autoimmune conditions, possibly including lupus.

Last month, Kris said "it is getting more difficult to stay strong" and asked her late mom, former president Cory Aquino, for courage and ability to surrender to God's will.

She also said her son Bimby might come home to the Philippines to start working due to her rising medical bills.

Kris has been keeping the public updated on her health since she flew to the United States in 2022.
