Kris Aquino explains why her autoimmune conditions are so difficult to treat
Kris Aquino gave a live interview via Zoom on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Wednesday to share an important update on her health.
The Queen of All Media, who is battling multiple autoimmune conditions, said there's swelling in her heart and she can go into cardiac arrest any time.
Kris has been in the United States since 2022 to seek medical treatment, but her condition has seen little progress so far. Asked to explain why this is the case, she said there are so many limitations on the medications she is allowed to take.
"Pinaka mabilis na sagot, tatlong pages 'yung laman ng binibigay sa mga doktor na ito 'yung mga bawal na gamot kay Kris," she said. "As simple as Biogesic, as simple as Ponstan, Advil, 'yung mga fever reducers, lahat 'yan allergic ako."
"Halos lahat ng antibiotics, allergic ako," she added. "Mabibilang mo siguro sa sampung daliri kung ilan lang ang gamot na puwede kong i-take."
According to Kris, even steroids have serious side effects on her body.
She also has so many allergies, including something as simple as grass and dust.
"Ultimo 'yung butil ng alikabok, 'pag hininga ko 'yan, at hindi nakapurify 'yung hangin—hindi po kaartehan, totoo—naninikip na, nag-a-asthma attack na," she said.
Kris likened it to going to war without proper equipment.
"Ang mga kalaban mo may mga armalite, lahat sila may mga assault rifle, ikaw binigyan ka ng butter knife or binigyan ka ng isang tinidor, 'yun lang ang panlaban," she said.
Despite her worsening condition, Kris remains hopeful that she can survive everything for the sake of her sons, Josh and Bimby.
"Pero buhay ako ngayon at alam ko dahil tiwala ako sa dasal, na kakayanin pa 'to," she said.
