Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray strike a pose at Love Gala 2023 red carpet
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, struck a pose together on the red carpet of Love Gala 2023.
In the photos shared by Pia on Instagram, she is seen wearing a metallic bronze Filipiniana gown, while beside her, Catriona dons a vintage floral Filipiniana-inspired gown, complemented by stylish bangs.
“Because where there is love, heroes emerge!” Pia said in her caption.
Pia added that “she’s proud to be part of this year’s Love Gala with sister Catriona Gray.”
Love Gala is an annual event organized by LoveYourself Inc., an HIV advocacy group, to celebrate the community's triumphs over HIV and its associated challenges.
On December 1, LoveYourself Philippines announced that the two Filipina beauty queens had partnered with them for their World AIDS Day 2023 campaign.
“As we continue the fight on HIV, it’s always an honor to pay homage to the game changers in HIV Advocacy in the Philippines & Asia Pacific,” Pia continued. “Every win, big or small, of our community against HIV is worth the celebration.”
During her reign as Miss Universe 2015, Pia made HIV-AIDS advocacy one of her missions.
In 2017, she launched a project to spread facts about HIV, as well as Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) and sexual health in general.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona also previously worked with LoveYourself to introduce an at-home HIV screening kit in the country.
