Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach join forces for World AIDS Day 2023 campaign
Miss Universe titleholders Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach are continuously utilizing their platforms to amplify causes that matter.
On Instagram, LoveYourself Philippines announced that the two Filipina beauty queens had partnered with them for their World AIDS Day 2023 campaign.
“Join us and witness history unfold as Miss Universe Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach unite for a collaboration that empowers individual choices by knowing that what works for you is living a life that enables a safer society for all,” the Philippine-based website with information on sexual health, safe sex, and HIV testing wrote.
LoveYourself is an organization primarily composed of volunteers who address the HIV epidemic through multi-layered actions, promoting self-worth and the TSC concept. TSC stands for 'timely testing and treatment, safe and satisfying sex, and correct and consistent use of condoms'—essential approaches to protect oneself from engaging in risky behaviors.
“Together with these queens, we also celebrate the power of community leadership - honoring the tireless efforts of volunteers, the heroes that emerge and lead the way in the HIV advocacy,” it said.
During her reign as Miss Universe 2015, Pia made HIV-AIDS advocacy one of her missions.
In 2017, she launched a project to spread facts about HIV, as well as Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) and sexual health in general.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona also previously worked with LoveYourself to introduce an at-home HIV screening kit in the country.
You inspire us, Cat and Pia!
