Angelica Panganiban reveals suffering from Avascular Necrosis or 'bone death'
Angelica Panganiban revealed that she suffers from Avascular Necrosis or bone death.
In her recent vlog titled “I have Avascular Necrosis,” Angelica opened up that she has been suffering from persistent hip pains since she was pregnant with her firstborn, Amila Sabine.
Initially, the actress thought the pain was due to pregnancy, so she didn't consult a doctor until she experienced excruciating pain during her trip to Palawan earlier this year.
When she finally sought medical advice at Asian Hospital, she was informed that she has Avascular Necrosis, a condition resulting from the death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply.
In her latest vlog update, Angelica shared that she has already undergone procedures to address her condition.
“Nagawa na ‘yung procedure kahapon. Nakapagpasok na sila, na drill na nila ‘yung hole papunta dun sa deadbone ko,” she said.
“Nilagyan nila ng plasma nang sa gano’n, magkaron ng regrowth, mabuhay siya ulit, magkaroon ng blood flow,” she added.
[The procedure was done yesterday. They were able to drill a hole towards my dead bone. They filled it with plasma so that, in that way, there will be regrowth, it will live again, and there will be blood flow.]
Angelica also expressed her frustration in the vlog about dealing with such a condition, but despite it, she mentioned that she is maintaining a positive attitude.
“Minsan, I just can’t believe na, kumbaga at the age of 37, nagkaroon ako ng bone death, there’s something dead inside me,” she said.
“Patuloy ang pagiging positive na matatapos na ‘yung kalbaryo dito sa nararamaman ko dahil finally na pinpoint na namin kung ano talaga ‘yung sakit ko,” she added.
[Sometimes, I just can't believe that, like at the age of 37, I experienced bone death, there's something dead inside me. I continue to stay positive that what I'm going through will finally end because we've finally pinpointed what my illness really is.]
Angelica has been engaged to her partner Gregg since October 2022. Their daughter Amila turned one this year.
