Ben&Ben's Toni Muñoz diagnosed with Bell's palsy
Ben&Ben percussionist Toni Muñoz revealed that she has been diagnosed with Bell's palsy, a temporary condition that causes muscle weakness on one side of the face.
Toni shared her health update through a statement on Instagram, Thursday.
According to the musician, she knew about it before the OPM band flew to Sydney, Australia for a show.
"The left side of my face is paralyzed, so as some of you might have noticed (lalo na sa mga na-meet namin sa Sydney), I can only wear half a smile, and there's bit of change in the way I speak," she said.
"I am slowly getting used to this day by day, but I wouldn't be truthful if I said that it's easy. It's a roller coaster of an experience, physically, mentally, emotionally," she added.
Toni said she can still sing and perform, albeit with more challenge.
She also thanked everyone who supports her and cares for her.
"Ayun lang! Just putting this out here para lang hindi kayo magtaka/magulat when you see me, at para na rin sa akin, para mas lumakas 'yung pagtanggap ko na ito ngayon ang aking realidad," she said.
"Gagaling naman ako, kailangan lang maghintay. Sa ngayon, kahit kalahati lang ang aking mga ngiti, buo pa rin 'yan galing sa aking [puso]."
Toni is one of the nine members of Ben&Ben, the hitmakers behind "Pagtingin," "Kathang-Isip," "Leaves," and "Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay."
The band recently released a motivational song called "Courage." In April, they also released a cover of Christian Bautista's popular song "The Way You Look At Me," with a music video featuring Barbie Forteza and David Licauco.
