Liza Soberano opens up about insecurities, reveals Alopecia episode in 2020
Liza Soberano is one of the most beautiful faces of local show business but in Vicki Belo's recent vlog, the actress discussed her insecurities.
According to Liza, her weight is her biggest insecurity.
“I think that’s no secret all throughout my showbiz career,” she said.
“I would always be criticized for my weight fluctuating back and forth like, you know, the rumors about me being pregnant just because I would gain a little bit of weight,” Liza said.
While she is diligent about working out and maintaining a healthy diet, Liza said maintaining her weight is a bit of a struggle, thanks to her work’s demands.
“I always tend to cover myself up with bigger-sized clothing or by dressing in the same silhouettes over and over again because that became my comfort zone,” she said.
It didn't help at in 2020, she endured a case of from traction alopecia — a kind of hair loss resulting from pulling force on the hair roots — that made her insecure about her hair.
“As I got older, my hair started thinning a bit,” Liza said.
“I got alopecia around 2020 due to stress, and then also, I guess, the nature of the industry [where] we’re constantly getting our hair and makeup done,” she added.
In February, Liza aired out her misgivings about working in Philippine showbiz that quickly made her controversial.
In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda shortly after, Liza admitted to never wanting to became an “artista.”
She also admitted on Bea Alonzo’s vlog that she felt “boxed in” by being in a love team.
