Iza Calzado admits: 'I have been struggling to fully embrace my postpartum body'

Iza Calzado is a staunch advocate of body positivity.

So when she took to Instagram on Wednesday to admit she was struggling with her postpartum body, we sit up and listen.

Posting a reel of her various workouts, the actress admitted she had been working out since March but needed several months before she could post a video of herself exercising.

"To be honest, I have been struggling to fully embrace my postpartum body," Iza said.

While there are good days, she admits to also having "moments that leave me feeling frustrated even after years of working on loving and accepting myself."

According to Iza, she decided to post the video as a reminder "that no matter the size of my body, it is worthy of taking up space on my feed."

"It is also a way for me to honor where I am at, physically and mentally. Mahaba haba pa ang biyahe pero darating din tayo dun," she added.

Calling it "a new chapter in my body and self love journey," Iza is choosing to reframe the anxiety she's feeling into something positive, like excitement.

"Grateful for this new challenge and can’t wait to see where my hard work will take me. Whatever the outcome, what matters is I enjoy the process," the actress said.

"Tuloy lang. Laban lang!" Iza ended her note with an encouraging tone.

Iza gave birth to her daughter last January and in March, shared she named her after her Encantadia character Amihan.

In April, she finally showed her daughter's face for the first time.

Iza announced she was pregnant with her first child at age 40 last August.
