A month after Miss Universe Philippines coronation, Angelique Manto recalls ‘journey of growth, self-discovery, triumphs’

The 2nd runner up of Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Angelique Manto reminisced her Miss Universe Philippines journey, a month since the pageant concluded.

On Instagram, Angelique shared a video recapping her experience, which she called a “journey of growth, self-discovery, and triumphs.”

“So much memories to compress in a minute and a half — but in a nutshell, here’s my journey of growth, self-discovery and triumphs (may they be big or small), and even all the missteps in between,” the former UAAP courtside reporter wrote.

She also shared that she always tells herself and her boyfriend, David Guison, that she can’t recognize herself when she watches her pageant videos.

Angelique, who represented Pampanga, also acknowledged those who helped her along the way: “[O]h how far we’ve come for #MANTObeTheUniverse; but never here without the many hands to become the pearl that I am — I appreciate you all.

“May we continuously take all the steps necessary towards it, and the dreams beyond,” she added.

In February, Angelique said joining Miss Universe Philippines is an ode to her younger self, her father, mental health, and her "beloved Pampanga."

Angelique was hailed as the 2nd runner-up during the pageant's coronation night held on May 13.

Michelle Dee took home the crown.
