Gardo Versoza on heart attack: 'Umabot ako dun sa point na parang about to leave this world'

Gardo Versoza is now recovering after suffering from a heart attack back in March.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the veteran actor opened up on his recent health scare.

Gardo said the doctors found two clogged arteries in his heart after his angiogram, with one of them 100% blocked.

"Umabot ako dun sa point na parang about to leave this world," he said.

He had an angioplasty and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the procedure. He was eventually discharged from the hospital and is undergoing rehabilitation.

Gardo shared what it was like to find himself brushing close to death, saying that he surrendered everything to God.

"Ganun pala 'yung feeling na parang akala ko before nakakanerbyos," he said. "Pero come to think of it, parang bibigay mo na lahat kay Lord eh."

"'Yung nga 'yung pinagdasal ko na, 'If ever man na this is my time, Kayo na pong bahala dun sa mag-ina," he added.

Gardo is married to Ivy Vicencio. They have one child, a son named Deity Uziel.

The actor said he had no idea that he has a heart condition because he has an active lifestyle and watches what he eats.

However, he has not gone for regular medical checkups, and that's one lesson he learned from the experience.

"Feeling ko parang in a way baka rin ginamit akong instrumento ng Panginoon na kumbaga mai-share sa iba na 'wag n'yong balewalain kasi hindi biro 'yun."
