Girl with lump on her chin 10 years ago now doing well thanks to GMA Kapuso Foundation

A young girl with a lump on her chin over 10 years ago is now doing well thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Angelica Mora had ameloblastoma or a tumor in her jaw when she was four years old.

It began as a simple wound but it eventually grew larger, which caused the child to become shy and avoid socialization with other people.

"Umiiyak kami, eh bakit napabayaan 'yung bata. Sabi nung tatay, walang wala daw," said Nelia Pagulayan, Angelica's grandmother, back in 2012.

Lola Nelia sought the help of the GMA Kapuso Foundation for her granddaughter.

Angelica underwent consultation and had an operation to remove the tumor.

"Any tumor, especially on children is always a cause for alarm," said Dr. Hector Santos. "One it could be disfiguring. Number two, ano 'yung posibilidad 'yung tumor na yun ay isang malignancy o cancer so bago siya lumaganap kailangan maalis na siya."

At present, Angelica is now a Grade 9 student and has come out of her shell without the lump on her chin.

"Nakakalabas na po ako, nakakasama ko na po yung mga kaibigan ko," she said. "Ngayon nakakain ko na po 'yung gusto ko."

The GMA Kapuso Foundation visited her recently and gave her grocery packs, vitamins, and hygiene kits.

If you're interested to help those in need, the GMA Kapuso Foundation accepts donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
