Sam Pinto on quitting showbiz in 2017: 'I was tired and burnt out'

Like most of us, Sam Pinto has felt tired and burnt out about work at some point.

On Tuesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" episode, Sam admitted she walked away from the show business industry in 2017 because she was exhausted.

"I was tired and burnt out, so I needed a break," she told Boy Abunda.

According to the actress, the timing favored her because it coincided with the building of L'Sirene, her boutique resort in Baler.

"I think I enjoyed that break too much [because] I was just chilling," Sam said.

"I had all the time that I [needed]. I can do anything, I can go anywhere, parang freedom, basically," she added.

Sam also said she thought she was really done with showbiz when she quit six years ago.

"At that time, ayoko na, because I was working mostly everyday," she said.

Three weeks ago, however, Sam began thinking of showbiz. She said she missed being busy and a week later, she got a call asking if she was interested to be a part of GMA's "Abot-Kamay na Pangarap."

Sam currently stars as a psychiatrist at Eastridge Medical Hospital of the show. — Hermes Joy Tunac/LA, GMA Integrated News
