Ina Feleo reveals disc bulge diagnosis after several falls during figure skating practice

Ina Feleo revealed that she sustained a disc bulge injury while training hard for the show “Hearts on Ice.”

In an Instagram post, the actress — who was already a figure skater even before — said she worked to be able to do the scenes properly, particularly the one where she has to skate with Olympian Michael Martinez. She started practicing late last year just in case she would have a skating scene in the series.

After multiple falls, the actress said she got “diagnosed with an L5 disc bulge.”

According to the Bonati Spine Institute, an L5 disc bulge occurs in the lower back. Its symptoms include pain on the outside of the lower leg down to the toes, as well as numbness, weakness, and tingling.

However, Ina persevered — and felt rewarded following comments from netizens. On the night of the shoot, she said she drank pain-kilers so her back wouldn’t hurt. She was then able to execute the move.

“It’s a small win but the comments I read after the scene aired make everything worth it,” she said. In her caption, she added, “Why we do what we do."

Ina shared some screenshots of netizens’ comments, who say that she did an amazing job.
