Winwyn Marquez on comparisons with her mom Alma Moreno: 'Dun nag-start 'yung insecurity ko with how I look'

Winwyn Marquez opened up about being compared to her mom, Alma Moreno.

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, Winwyn admitted that dealing with the constant comparisons with her mother was difficult.

"Oh my God, it was so hard. Feeling ko dun nag-start 'yung insecurity ko with how I look kasi syempre, ang ganda-ganda ng nanay ko. We all — I agree with that," said Winwyn.

"My mom is really different, pero laging, 'Ba't 'di mo kamukha ng nanay mo? Bakit hindi ka mestiza?'" She continued.

Winwyn added that some of the things people would say were, "'You don't look like your mom. You're not pretty enough. You're not tall. Iba 'yung itsura mo.'"

"Lagi kasama 'yung itsura ng mom ko in the context of my mother," she said.

"Syempre, I doubted myself growing up e, pero I'm just so proud of my mom," she added.

"I'm proud that people see her as this parang ethereal woman -- diyosa," she said.

"Even if I don't look like her, I'm proud na nanay ko siya," she added.

Winwyn also mentioned that she's had conversations with her mom about it.

"Syempre sasabihin niya sa 'kin, 'Anak, kamukha kita,'" said Winwyn.

Winwyn concluded, "I love who I am. I know who I am. And if you're confident kung sino ka talaga, 'di ka na ma-insecure."

Winwyn's dad is actor-politician Joey Marquez.
