The GMA Kapuso Foundation has collected 777 blood bags from soldiers in time for the critical period of Holy Week.

According to "24 Oras," Monday, the foundation continued their blood donation drive under the Sagip Dugtong Buhay project.

A total of 436 blood bags were collected from Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija, 101 from Camp Capinpin in Tanay, Rizal, and 240 from Camp O'Donell in Capas, Tarlac.

"Ito panahon ngayon ng pag-travel, maraming aksidenteng nare-record at this time," said Col. Victor M. Llapitan of the Philippine Army.

"Ngayon upcoming Holy Week po, and siyempre nababawasan po 'yung ating mga blood donors natin, kahit ganyan po ine-encourage po natin sila na magdonate ng dugo," said Dr. Gerald Valeriano, Philippine Red Cross medical officer.

Among the donors is Jiabee Gutierrez, who lost part of his left leg in the line of duty.

If you're interested to help more people in need, the GMA Kapuso Foundation accepts donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
