19-year-old woman with large lump on her neck asks for help to get surgery

A 19-year-old woman with a lump on her neck has asked for help from the GMA Kapuso Foundation so she can get medical treatment for her condition.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, Clarissa Claire "Kleng" Ceria is from Ballesteros, Cagayan.

Her condition leads to her feeling weak and dizzy often. It has only gotten worse over the years.

"Kapag po sobrang init at napapagod po ako. Mararamdaman ko pong kumikirot. Kinabukasan po, puputok na po."

Kleng's mom, Jodelyn Ceria, said Kleng also faints at times.

"Kapag sumumpong 'yung ganun niya po, tinatakbo namin agad sa ospital," Jodelyn said.

Kleng's mom works as a household helper while Kleng's dad works
as a farmer. Unfortunately, their jobs are not enough to buy the medicine that Kleng needs.

That led to Kleng getting a job as a waitress at a restaurant, which she does while studying for school as well.

However, Kleng soon lost the job and extra income because her boss could see that she was having a hard time working.

Mary Jane Bonifacio, who cares for Kleng, said, "Nag-usap kami. Binigyan ko na lang siya ng pera and damit. Sabi ko, 'Pagpray natin.' Sana one day may tutulong sa kanya."

She asked for help from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

The foundation then checked in on Kleng and her condition with a doctor.

Dr. Rex P. Merza, Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Far North Luzon General Hospital, said, "It's cherry hemangioma [a lump] on top of a lipoma [a fatty tumor]. Primarily, talagang abnormality doon sa development ng ugat kung saan tumubo sila at nagkumpol kumpol."

Dr. Merza said Kleng needs surgery.

"Kinakailangan matanggal kasi unang una 'yun 'yung nagiging problem 'yung pagdudugo. Ang then, pag nasagi, na-irritate, dumudugo 'yung area na 'yan," he said.

"Tulungan n'yo po ako kasi may gusto pa po akong pangarap. Gusto ko pa pong makatulong sa pamilya ko," said Kleng, crying.

For those who are interested to help, the GMA Kapuso Foundation accepts donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
