5 local tinted sunscreens to get your skin protected this summer
Using sunscreen, especially in countries like the Philippines, where it's practically summer all year long, is highly advised by dermatologists.
But not all sunscreens are the same.
According to Dr. Vicki Belo, the minimum daily SPF your skin needs is 30. “Apply it and wait 20 minutes before the skin absorbs it and gets you protected,” she tells GMA News Online.
Another hot tip from the famous beauty doctor? Choose sunscreens with UVB (Ultraviolet B) and UVA (Ultraviolet A) protection.
“UVA is aging rays, and UVB is burning rays, and you have to have sunscreen for both,” said the 67-year-old doctor to the stars, who advised to stay out of the sun between 10am and 3pm "because those are the hottest hours."
Belo advises to use two fingers to correctly measure the amount of sunscreen you will need on your face.
“You must put enough [sunscreen] to cover two fingers, then spread it all over your face. Then, if you apply it in the morning and go out, you must reapply every four hours,” she explained.
