Bela Padilla on why she left: 'Nung pandemic, I didn't feel at home anymore in the Philippines'
Bela Padilla guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Friday where together with the King of Talk, she discussed various topics including being a director and her leaving the country during the pandemic.
"Napakaraming speculations. 'Baka si Bela hindi na babalik.' 'Magbe-base na ba siya sa London?' 'What's happening?' Can you enlighten all of us?" Tito Boy asked.
"In a way, tama naman, Tito Boy," Bea began. "Right now, I'm based in London. I associate myself with living in London."
She's actually built a film company in the UK, and still loves working with people she knows and so Bela still comes back to the Philippines when she has a movie to film.
"But siguro dahil nag-pandemic, Tito Boy. Lahat tayo naghanap ng lugar sa mundo kung saan tayo pinaka kumportable, kung saan tayo at home. And nung pandemic, I didn't feel it anymore in the Philippines," Bela continued.
"I felt like I had to leave," she added.
Bela said there wasn't a big explanation, nor was there a deep meaning behind her decision to go. But when Tito Boy pointed out how her father resides in the Big Smoke, Bela nodded yes.
"Yung mga ate ko, nakatira sa UK, my dad is also there," she said, adding Norman lives in Switzerland, which is pretty neaby.
In the interview, Bela was also asked if Norman is The One. "Yes," Bela answered. — LA, GMA Integrated News
