Xian Lim turns vulnerable in latest vlog: 'I made a mistake and I'm sorry'
Actor Xian Lim just turned vulnerable in his latest vlog on YouTube.
Entitled "I made a mistake," the nearly five-minute video had Xian making a public apology.
"I made a mistake, and I'm sorry," the Kapuso actor began his narration.
Listening a few more seconds and it becomes apparent that Xian is apologizing to himself.
"I'm sorry I doubted you. I should've done more with the time I had but I was too busy thinking negatively about myself," Xian said.
He also apologized for being insensitive to the people around him, for hating myself, for "doing self-harm — physically and emotionally."
"You're the only one I have," he said.
According to Xian, he battled with relatable negative thoughts about himself, such as thinking he was "not good enough," that he was fat and ugly, and that he doesn't "belong here."
"They're better than me. I suck. I'm such a loser. I'll never be like them," he admitted to thinking.
In the video description, Xian said it was, "A public confession to the person I have the biggest debt on."
And a confession it felt like. In the video, he went on to apologize "for thinking too much about what others think of me. They don't like me. I'm weird. I'm a nobody. I don't belong here. I'm not educated enough to be here. I'm not rich enough."
He added, "I could have been soaring, but I chose to think about the worst that could happen rather than letting things fall into place."
As though befriending himself, Xian also made promises to make positive changes, like be grateful and be kinder.
"I want to become the best version of me," he said. "I will be a blessing to those around me," he added.
He also acknowledged that he is a work in progress, but he said, "I'll continuously be better. I promise."
On Instagram, he thanked his fans for their "wonderful feedback" and explained the video is comprised "of some realizations" he's had while making the Experience Life Podcast.
"From time to time I'll have segments like these where podcast topics merges to YT vlogs because there was some sort of a spark of inspiration while sharing my thoughts and feelings," Xian explained.
"This is my way of trying to share and provide my experiences to my viewers and listeners and somehow put out value in my work."
Turning vulnerable is a tough thing to do these days so kudos to Xian for sharing! — LA, GMA Integrated News
