What is 'manifesting' and how do you turn your dreams into reality this 2023?

"Manifesting," is one of the most popular things you'll hear online these days, because let's admit it, the act of manifesting — or bringing your desires into reality — has proven itself to be true time and time again.

According to Ethel Tongo, a manifesting coordinating and intuitive entrepreneur, manifesting is “better than wishing” because you’re acting to get what you want.

On "Unang Hirit" Friday, Tongco shared some tips on how to manifest our goals and dreams and turn them into reality.

1. Say the right words

Instead of “I wish,” say, “I will.”

It’s similar to the law of attraction, which basically means that positive thoughts bring positivity to one’s life.

“Kasi pag sinabing ‘wish’ or ‘want,’ pwedeng hindi magkatotoo,” Ethel said. “Pero pag sinabi mong ‘will,’ yung buong katauhan mo, energy mo, nandun.”

“Kailangan mo siyang i-claim,” she added.

2. Two-glass method

To do this, cleanse your space first with mists, salt, or sage smudge sticks.

Put some water in one glass and keep the other empty.

Then, prepare two pieces of paper.

On the first one, write about your current situation. On the other, write about your wish. Make sure it’s specific. Fold both papers three times toward you. This invites your wishes into your life.

Put the first paper under the glass with water, and the second under the empty glass.

“And then this is the part where kailangan ka mag-meditate,” Ethel said. “Kailangan mong i-wish yung gusto mo: I-vi-visualize mo na siya. Kapag pumipikit ka, ilalagay mo yung energy mo doon sa water.”

The water will absorb your energy, so you have to be in a good mindset while meditating.

When you feel that you have laid down your intentions, leave the paper, then transfer the water to the empty glass. After that, feel your happiness about your dream as if it already came true. Then, drink the water.

Ethel advised burning both papers to surrender these to the universe.

3. Journaling

Once again, cleanse your space and be in a corner or a spot where you feel comfortable.

Called the 3-6-9 method, get a notebook and write down your desires three times in the morning, six times in the afternoon, and nine times at night. Do this for every intention or statement.

“Gagawin mo siya until such time na ma-realize mo, or mangyari na yung gusto mo,” the expert said.

And as much as possible, keep your journal close to you, “para lagi mo siya naaalala.”

4. Visualization through the candle flame

Prepare a candle — colored ones are optional. For example, use a red candle if you want love, green if you want money, and yellow or gold for success.

“Ang pinaka safe for any intention [is] white or black kasi no color yun at all,” Ethel said.

Get a piece of paper again. Write down your dream on one of them, fold it three times toward you, and put it underneath a candle.

Meditate while holding the candle and looking at the flame while also visualizing all that you want to happen.

This method should be done daily for nine days. Don't forget to set one day for gratitude.
