Sunshine Dizon gets diagnosed with PTSD, depression, panic attacks, abandonment issues
Sunshine Dizon took to Instagram on Saturday to share her struggles with mental health.
Posting photos of her medicine, Sunshine said she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, panic attacks, and abandonment issues.
Answering why she decided to publicize what she’s been going through, the actress said she wants to “free myself from the stigma.”
“There’s nothing wrong to ask for help. I know it’s very hard to get stuck in your head. But we can do it, baby steps. One day at a time,” she wrote in the caption.
In another post, Sunshine showed herself in a hospital bed with a fever. She took that time to reflect and share her realizations.
“I’m turning 40 next year. I have so many regrets but I don’t know how to go back to where I used to be. This is not about work. This is about life-altering decisions,” she said.
“Laying in a hospital bed alone at 3am, I ask myself, ‘Was it all really worth it?’ I may never [have] the answers but I pray to god that I can let go of all my baggage, hurt and guilt.”
She also hoped to “find someone who will sleep beside me in this small hospital bed till I fall asleep.”
Among those who showered Sunshine with love and support in the comments include Carla Abellana, Iza Calzado, Katrina Halili, Karylle, Janine Gutierrez, and Vina Morales. —Franchesca Viernes/KG, GMA Integrated News
