Chynna Ortaleza reminds women to prioritize health: ‘Prevention, early detection are key’

Chynna Ortaleza on Monday shared an incident with her son that turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

On Instagram, the Kapuso actress wrote that her son accidentally hit her right boob, which caused “breathtaking contractions.” Because of this, Chynna decided to consult her OB and have a breast ultrasound.

“The pain is due to trauma but guess what ... we found breast nodules,” she said.

“I was advised to observe and do a repeat in 6 months. Apparently some nodules come and go, women get it ... it’s fine. There is no cancer,” the mom of two added.

According to Chynna, there is a history of breast cancer in their family, which is why she is taking a “proactive approach.”

In a separate post, the 39-year-old shared her mammogram experience at Asian Breast Center and delivered the good news that she and mom were both “in the clear.”

She then encouraged women as young as 35 to get tested for breast cancer.

“Remember to prioritize yourself and don’t wait until you are already feeling ill before you evaluate your body. Prevention and early detection [are] key,” she said. – RC, GMA News
